Marianna's Gown
Marianna's Gown. Marianna liked an outfit that we did for her sister-in-law Vivi. So firstly we had to differentiate it. Marianna liked the idea of a shirt and skirt. We used a shirt base and finely placed the gorgeous dainty wave lace onto the shirt. There are no seams to the lace on her shirt. This was tricky but it was worth the result to see the lace in one piece, without being restricted or aesthetically being obstructed by a seam. We used a palette of natural white in a Japanese taffeta, off-white dainty wave lace, and a French silk micromodal blend. It's always a challenge when using different fabrics and textures that they'll work harmoniously and are of the same tone. It seems easy but there are so many tones to white depending on the fabric content too. We did it though! Marianna was open to a splash of colour, so we used a gorgeous wine mat fabric for her belt, with pleated detailing and she also got her shoes handmade by the talented Angela Rapti.
